Prof. Mazur: active lecturing through peer instruction

Professor Eric Mazur (professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Harvard University and Area Dean of Applied Physics) verzorgde in september 2011 een masterclass Interactive Teaching voor de docenten van de TU Delft.

He describes the basic idea for the masterclass as:
“I thought I was a good teacher until I discovered my students were just memorizing information rather then learning to understand the material. Who was to blame? The students? The material? My conclusion: It was my teaching that caused students to fail”.

The description of active lecturing with peer instruction can be found on the website van Eric Mazur.
